The Golfer’s Chiropractor’s 5 “Must Do” Stretches
Most of us golfers don’t stretch nearly enough before we play. That’s why we get hurt so often. There’s only so much time in a day and we want to get out there and play.
But we can’t play at all if we’re hurt and that’s why I’ve put together a special guide on the 5 “must do” stretches before you play.
I’m a professional chiropractor so I could give you 20 more, but I know you don’t have time for all of that. So here’s the skinny on what you’ll find in the guide.
- Cross Toe Touches: Helps loosen the major muscles in your legs and stimulates your brains balance mechanisms. This helps you keep your head still and behind the ball and adds power to your swing.
- Flexion/Extensions: Stretches the gross muscle groups forwards and backwards which loosens your back for better body movement and minimizes the chance of an injury.
- Scapula Rolls: Frees up all the major muscles (the prime movers) of the shoulders (if your shoulder blades can’t move freely, your golf swing will always have some sort of hitch).
- Shoulder Turns: Allows you to find your maximum rotation points so you don’t over turn on your backswing or follow through (this improves your swing no matter how flexible or stiff you may be).
- Hip Bump: Loosens hips for a more efficient weight shift (gives you more control over where you place your shots).
